These guys have released software that can track your stolen laptop - and tell you where it is:

The Wi-Fi Positioning System (WPS) from Skyhook Wireless adds a powerful new set of features to Laptop Cop, making it the most comprehensive and effective laptop protection software in the industry."
Of course, not much use unless the computer is hooked to the internet. And the super dooper 'more accurate than GPS' feature utilises wi fi hot spots - so not much use if the laptop is in places where wi-fi is not prevalent.
But the ability to reach out to your stolen laptop and delete and manage files etc remotely is cool.
