200,000 customers of Australia's Commonwealth Bank are sleeping easier after the Bank promised it has solved computer data processing problems that resulted in their accounts being debited twice for the same transaction. The bank has traced the problem back to a batch file (a set of data to be processed) that did not process correctly one night, and thus was flagged for processing a second time.
Of course, the bank has promised to make good any fees or charges incorrectly paid by customers. And promised it won't happen again. Well, til the next time it happens anyway. What else can they do?
